6 Mistakes In Make-Up That Immediately Make You Look Old

Over the years, gloss and highlighter become enemies of appearance, and heavy powder adds to the age, which (especially on dry skin) accentuates freckles. How to keep a youthful appearance even after 50 years?

Makeup is a “tool” that helps every woman’s face to transform. And although some women look youthful and fresh with make-up, there are also those who, since they put on make-up, they seem to have aged a few years.

That’s why make-up experts save you from the biggest mistakes that any woman who uses make-up can make, and unknowingly add a few years to her face.

What should you avoid (and what should you do) to maintain a youthful appearance, regardless of age?

Mistake No. 1: Wrong eyebrow shape

You can shape it to your face, and depending on the format, you can give it a soft or strict look.

However, over the years, they turn white, fall off, due to the decrease in facial tone, and they become lower or, due to an error in the measurement, they may be uneven.

Therefore, experts advise you to avoid very thin eyebrows and instead of making them sharp, choose a softer shape (like a pencil or varnish) – this will give it a more pleasant look on the face.

And to add volume and color to them, use shadow or an eyebrow pencil in a natural shade.

Mistake No. 2: Too dark makeup

Many women believe that dark colors add definition and liveliness to facial features.

But this is true only in youth – with age, dark colors have the opposite effect.

Therefore, avoid black or dark gray shadow, lipstick in the color of ripe plum, burgundy or violet shades.

Instead, choose a warm eye palette – apricot, beige, caramel or pastel pink.

For the lips, on the other hand, pink shades or transparent glosses are recommended.

Mistake No. 3: Overdoing the eyeliner

A dark eye pencil that is applied under the eyelids makes your eyes look closed and droopy, adding age to your face.

Instead, put a light pencil on the inside of the lower lid – that will visually widen your eyes.

Mistake 4: Too much dark lip pencil
If you used dark lipstick when you were young, stop doing that, because it will make you look smaller than it really is.

Experts advise you to choose light or neutral crayons, apply them along the lines of your mouth, and then apply bright lipstick.

Mistake No. 5: Heavy powder

Many women make a mistake when choosing a powder – they choose a “heavy” powder with the hope that it will hide their skin imperfections.

However, the effect is the opposite, especially if you have dry skin – heavy powder will emphasize your whiskers.

Instead, use a BB cream or a CC cream that has a gentle structure.

Mistake No. 6: Glitter and bright highlighter

Shine and highlighter are the choice of many women who add it as a “finishing effect” to their make-up.

But over the years, they become enemies in appearance.

If you still don’t want to give them up, apply them very carefully on the top of the cheekbones, a thin line over the eyebrows and just a small dot on the top of the nose (and it doesn’t have to).
